It´s the “Celtic region” of the country, where the geographic imprint is reflected in its extraordinary gastronomy. Specialties of Galicia are well-known in Spain as well as outside the country.
Not surprisingly, Galician pastries and bread, whose recipes have been passed on for generations, are still enjoyed even today.
It is the only region in Spain where rye- and cornbread are being baked. Therefore it´s not a coincidence that the first receiving award bread („Indicación Geográfica Protegida“) on the Iberian Peninsula comes from Galicia.
